If I think I’m beaten, I am,
If I think it’s scary, I’m scared to do it,
If I think I can’t, I won’t even try,
If I think it’s too dangerous – I wimp out,
If I think I’ll lose, I’ve lost already.
If I think I’ll be outclassed, I won’t start,
If I think she’s too good for me, she probably is.
I can never win a prize – so I won’t even bother.
Life’s losses don’t always go
To the wimp or loser,
But sooner or later the man who loses
